Action Station + Shortcut key action problem.

There is a slight issue if you use Action Station with actions such as the “KidzInteractive” from the Kidz set. Because this action has many stops in it so that the user can adjust settings as the action runs there is a slight problem if the action is run from Action Station AND Action Station has been started by the shortcut key action.

Control is with the shortcut action and returns to this action when the Stop button is clicked in the Kidz action rather than staying with the Kidz action. If Action Station is started direct (ie from the File->Scripts menu) then this problem does not apply. I’d recommend that a Hot-Key is assigned to the script directly rather than using the Hot-Key action. If you are unsure how to do this let me know and I’ll either guide you through it or do it for you remotely.

The same issue could arise with other vendors actions too so the change would be advisable even if you are not using the Kidz set. Please email if you require help with this.

Lightroom Presets – Updated

Customers who purchased the Lightroom presets on or before the 12th April 2009 should re-download using the username/password from their order email to get a free update. The presets now have a version that works better with RAW files and also presets for Adobe Camera Raw (ACR).

A downloadable version of the DVD

One of the things that was highlighted in our recent survey (existing customers click here ) was that many people prefer electronic downloads to physical delivery.
We’ve always believed the amount of data was too large to be downloaded (there’s about 1.4 GB on the DVD) but we’ve managed to compress it down to around 850MB.

It seems that the days of dial-up are behind us so we are going to offer electronic download versions of the DVD (2.81 only). The contents will be the same but compressed into a single ZIP file so those with fast connections might want to look at the download version as an alternative. Our server supports resuming so using a download manager (IDM, Flashget, Getright etc) should make an 850mb download possible for most people. The physical disks will still be an option for those who would rather not use the download.

The usual upgrade terms will still apply (DVD price less existing order value) and we should have it available early next week.

On the subject of the survey I know many of you will have been unable to access it due to the problems with the servers on Thursday. Most of the SF area was without access to the internet (or telephones) for about 8 hours. Unfortunately the company that hosted the survey for us is based in that area. Everything is working again now so the link customers receievd in the newsletter should be active. The $10 voucher is still applicable too.

When a few more surveys are completed I’ll post a summary of the results online.

April Newsletter

We sent out a newsletter yesterday including the discount codes for the Lightroom Presets and also a link to a short survey we are conducting. If you are an existing customer and you’ve not received the newsletter and it’s not found it’s way into your junk folder then please let me know and I’ll resend it.
Unfortunately the survey is not accessible at the moment because the host we use is having technical problems. Hopefully it will be online again soon so please try again later.
