The missing Volume 8

Anyone wanting a few more details about the new set of actions can download a preliminary user guide from here. I don't think there'll be any major changes from this. There'll be a newsletter out shortly with the existing user discount codes. There are a few examples at .http://www.1clickactions.com/volume8.htm

For those of use expecting the "Pro" set...sorry!

One thing I should point out is that this set requires CS2 or later. I've tested them with CS2, CS3 and CS4 without any problems but unfortunately PS7 and CS are out this time.

LucisArt/Dave Hill/HDR/Tone Mapped etc

For quite a while now we've been developing (or rather messing about with) actions that create the LucisArt/Dave Hill/HDR/ToneMapped effect. These will soon be available but we could do with one or two beta testers before we release them generally. So please email if you are interested - we can't use evryone though - just one or two.

Here's what they do at the moment.

This is pushing the image into the Lucis sculpture area (or so I'm told since I don't have LucisArt) with excessive local/micro contrast. Rest assured that it is very adjustable though and the effect can be varied to a great extent.

The image below shows a lesser strength action suitable for more "realistic" images.

The release date is yet to be set but probably early June.

John

We're in the process of setting up a gallery feature in the user group - some of you might have noticed the Gallery option on the menu. It's not up and running as yet but when finished it should give each member a location to store and create albums of their images as well as posting them into the forum - although this is fine as well.

I'll send out an email newsletter with more details when its available.

Hullo

I have Photoshop CS3 and Lightroom

I a newbie in every way - and unfortunately technically challenged. I am keen on purchasing actions , but fear that they are not as simple in their usage as I would like - like one click - I know life is too complicated for that.

Would it be possible for step by step tutorials on using the actions down to when to flatten the layers to workflow to achieve the intended outcome for output.

Hope this makes sense.

thank you

Sue

Preventing spam

As an added security measure to prevent "bot spammers" we've added an updated version of "Captcha" to the registration for new members. Basically anyone signing up has to enter a two word code provied as an image on the registration screen. If it is difficult for for you to see the words (and it is sometimes) there is the option of refeshing for a different code or having a verbal code provided. Once this is done you need to respond to the automated email and you are sgned up - it's still free.

If anyone has a problem with this then email forumadmin@1clickactions.com and we'll set up up with an account manually. Sorry for the inconvenience but we don't really want a degree by post, or to help a Nigerian diplomat etc
