I'm new here.....not sure I'll be old here ....allfull lot of hidden hoops to jump through to get anywhere or do anything

I might be able to answer.

Since the spate of junk postings I had to put in place a system whereby all new members have to be manually approved before they are allowed to post messages or acess the downloads. I agree that this is a pain for new members but its a pain for me too. The alternative was worse, allowing a 'fake' member post a few dozen adverts (and all the rest) that needed to be manually deleted. I accept that this is not ideal for new members - I'm not happy with it either - but if anyone can suggest a better alternative I'm open to suggestions.

I apologise for the inconvenience this causes but the real fault is with the spammmers.

We also have the '1 post before downloading rule' whereby a member has to make a post before accessing the download area. I think personally that this is reasonable but again if people think its a major obstacle then please let me know.

Yeah, spam's a real pain. It seems pretty well controlled here so keep up the good work.
